Day 14 - Burgos

Yesterday I end the 25Km day in San Juan de Ortega. My reservation was at a place off the Camino about 10Km away and I knew I would not walk it, the Camino provided, two Belgian ladies I met on day one, were ending their Camino walk in San Juan and were being picked up by be if their partners, they kindly offer to drive me. It was a colourful evening, I was the only one staying in this 600 year old house. The Boomerang B&B. They can can handle 25 people (tonight they are full). The owners are in their mud 70s, the lady an Australian Jewish lady Hazel and her husband Rodrigo was burn in this house as it has been in the family for generations. They were very entertaining to me and spoke to both for hours while my meal was being cooked. Learned a lot about Spain and their struggles. This morning, rather than go back to San Juan and walk 20 km through an industrial busy area into Burgos, Rodrigo just drove me after breakfast to my next hotel in the centre of Burgos. A major city snd highlight along the Camino. A beautiful and busy city. I am taking an extra night rest here before heading out on the high meseta on Sunday. So had a chance today to visit the famous Burgos Cathedral, a gothic style huge complex. Most photos of it. Tomorrow I will walk around the other sites. In the past 3 days started to see many stork nests on churches. You can see one below.
