Today was a cheat day. The walk from Mansilla to Leon is mostly through industrial suburban area of Leon. Many of us took the 2 euro bus. This way I had today and all day tomorrow Sunday to visit and rest. From now until Santiago there will be no more rest days and some days will be very challenging. Need to heal my feet, two blisters and hot spots causing me problems. Today was laundry day and booking day, need to book all my stays till Santiago as the crowds of pilgrims keep increasing. Many, and I mean hundreds per day start their journey in Sarria which is just over 100 Km away from Santiago, the minimum distance the Catholic Church considers mandatory to receive your “Compostela” certificate at the end. For Spanish school kids this is a mandatory one week trip.

Spoiling myself with two nights at the AC Marriott in Leon. Not like all the other places I stayed during the week.

Being Saturday night, many bachelor/rettes parties going on around the bars in the old town. They are really fun to watch.

As a treat I had Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimps) tonight, best dish in 3 weeks.
